Liberty Poole, a former Love Island star, revealed her concerns about flying in hot air balloons and how safe they had previously been.
In light of the tragic deaths of at least eight people in Brazil this week when one of these floating aircraft caught fire, Love Island star Liberty Poole issued a warning about the dangers of hot air balloon rides. Reality star Liberty, age 25, recently took to the air, but she had no fun doing it.
Taking to social media, including via TikTok and Instagram, the former Love Island contestant shared footage and insights from her experience. She captioned her video, writing: “Social media Vs reality: Hot Air Balloon edition.”
She appeared to be at ease, fanning herself, and looking comfortable in the air while watching the videos. The star then screamed out in fear as they slammed into the ground with a thud before being forced to take the position of the brace.
The unexpected was also stated in a quote by Liberty: “… Although I crossed it off my bucket list, I believe it will only be for one occasion, lol. Liberty also revealed in additional footage that revealed her apparent lack of safety during her trip.
She explained that she didn’t realize a hot air balloon wasn’t upright when she did, and that she didn’t have a relaxing time.

The basket simply rises as the hot air balloon goes up. However, you must turn the other way as you descend.
Her description was spliced with footage of her resuming a flight. She went on to say, “We were basically told to just hold on to this rope and sit and crouch down.”
She continued, “I don’t know if that landing was normal,” making the suggestion that she might not have had the safest overall experience.
Fans were upset over Liberty’s account of her experience over the weekend when a hot air balloon in Brazil caught fire while it was in the air. The gigantic balloon, which was engulfed in flames before falling to the ground along with the basket full of visitors, was the subject of horrifying footage that went viral.
In the horrifying incident, at least eight people died and 13 others were hurt, according to reports. The pilot and the pilot were among the 21 people on board when the crash occurred in Santa Catarina on Saturday.
In a video posted on X following the disaster, Governor of Santa Catarina Jorginho Mello expressed his shock over the incident.
We are in a state of mourning, he declared. There has been a tragic incident. We’ll find out how it develops, what transpired, and why. The state structure must now make the best use of its resources.
