Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy spotted leaving restaurant as she stays in UK after funeral

Liam Payne’s girlfriend, who is still in the UK days after attending the former One Direction star’s funeral, has been spotted leaving a restaurant in London.

Exclusive pictures obtained by The Mirror show Kate Cassidy leaving Cacciari’s Portobello, an Italian restaurant that specialises in wood-fired pizza, pasta and mains including meat and fish, on Friday night. The 25-year-old American model, who has been dating the late singer since 2022, was photographed leaving the restaurant around 11 p.m. after dinner.

She carried a black bag with her while on the trip, pairing jeans with UGG boots and a long cream coat. Kate looked on in disbelief as she walked through London with a male friend, and she appeared downbeat emotional.

Kate hasn’t kept a public out since Liam’s funeral last week, and earlier this week she was photographed sobbing in London. As she contemplated while grabbing a coffee and a pastry treat, photos showed the departed model shedding tears. Kate and Liam shared a home in Florida, but it’s not yet known when Kate will move back to the US.

According to a source, Kate is still having trouble accepting what has happened to Liam. They told Entertainment Tonight: “She’s still in shock and disbelief. She has been through a very difficult time. Kate is attempting to process everything and be close to her loved ones. She is attempting to participate in plans to honor and preserve Liam’s life and memory.

Paying tribute to her late boyfriend in a heartfelt social media post, Kate shared never-before-seen photos of her and Liam together. She remarked, “A few weeks ago, we sat outside and manifested our lives together. Even though you instructed me not to look at it, I keep your note a secret. It said: ‘ Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444”.

Calling him the “love of my life”, she continued: “Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way that we planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel. We’ll be with you wherever I go for the rest of my life and the rest of my life. Forever yours, Katelyn, 444”.

Kate explained “444” is the number of angels. On her Instagram she said: “More often, you will see the number 444 when you are feeling down. Simply put, the number 44 serves as a reminder that you can count on your angels to support you forever. You’ll feel reassured that the angels are protecting you and loving you when you see this number.

Last week, Kate met Liam’s parents for the first time as she attended the funeral service at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, with the support of her friend Damian Hurley. Wearing dark sunglasses, a fur-lined coat and appearing to hold back tears, Kate, who said that her heart was “shattered” after Liam’s death, came face to face with her late boyfriend’s parents Geoff and Karen Payne for the first time.

She was also in the company of Liam’s ex-girlfriend Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of his seven-year-old son Bear. According to what sources, Cheryl reportedly assisted his family in organizing the private service for whom he was most close. Danielle Peazer, who dated Liam between 2010 and 2013, also attended his funeral.
