Ireland 141-2 (20 overs): Lewis 66* (52), Prendergast 28 (26), De Lange 1-19

Netherlands 137-6 (20 overs): Siegers 27 (24), Molkenboer (30), Delany 2-19

By eight wickets, Ireland won.

In Rotterdam, Ireland defeated the Netherlands in their second European T20 World Cup qualifying match. Gaby Lewis scored 66 not out.

Ireland are now in a strong position as they attempt to finish third in the four-team round robin, which will ensure a place in Nepal’s world qualifier following Wednesday’s victory over Germany.

Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat, with Siegers and Phebe Molkenboer both out for 27-years-old, with Kelly running out Siegers and Kelly dismissing Molkenboer.

Dutch captains Robine Rijke and Babette De Leede both took wickets from Laura Delany, and Jane Maguire took Myrthe van den Raad for 10 wickets.

However, the hosts rallied, with Iris Zwilling and Frederique Overdijk posting 25, respectively, for Ireland, who scored 138.

Ireland responded quickly by finding the boundary before Caroline de Lange bowled Hunter on 21. Lewis and Amy Hunter followed suit.

Before being caught off the bowing of Iris Zwilling by Babette de Leede, Orla Prendergast added 28 and added the final six of the match.

Leah Paul’s 17 helped Ireland surpass the Dutch tally with four balls in space while Captain Lewis continued to pepper the boundary with 11 fours.
