Harry Newman, a Leeds Rhinos’ centre, will sign a two-year deal with the newly formed NRL side Perth Bears in 2027.

The 25-year-old will leave Leeds when his contract expires at the end of the current season.

Since making his Rhinos debut in 2017, the England international has made 129 appearances.

One of the best centers in the history of the sport, head coach Mal Meninga, described Harry as a “test player who has been a part of the successful Leeds Rhinos system for several years.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do when he arrives in 2027 because he has the skills and experience to make an immediate impact in the NRL.

Toby Sexton, who is expected to play in Super League for the Catalans Dragons next season, will join the Bears as their first signing.

Sexton has appeared in 65 NRL games for the Canterbury Bulldogs and Gold Coast Titans.

Newman said, “I’ve always wanted to test myself in the NRL, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to do it with the Perth Bears.”
