The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has suspended the Bachelor of Laws (LL) program, but the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that it will not be pursuing applications for the law program at some reputable universities. B) programme) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was contained in a statement released by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, on Wednesday and made available to Channels Television.
He claims that JAMB will not grant admissions to candidates who want to study law at the affected universities during the 2025/2020 academic year.

Additionally, Benjamin added that the Nigerian Police Academy’s Law program will be unable to register until the 2026/2027 academic year.
“Please note that the suspension of the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, will last for two academic sessions: specifically, the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions”, the statement said.
The Council of Legal Education suspended the law program at the following universities:
- Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State
- Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State
- Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State
- Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State
- Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State
- Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State
- Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State
- Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State
