15 years after becoming famous alongside Mark Wright on The Only Way Is Essex, Lauren Goodger claims she has “ruined her looks” and looks “abnormal” in her plans to ditch her implants.
Fifteen years on from her first appearance on The Only Way Is Essex, Lauren Goodger looks dramatically different and she’s the first to admit it.
When the hit reality show launched back in 2010, Lauren was one of a group of unknowns who quickly found themselves thrust into the spotlight, with their glamorous lives in Brentwood playing out in front of the nation. Fast-forward to now, and Lauren, 38, has spoken candidly about the many cosmetic procedures she’s undergone over the years – and the regrets that have come with them.

The reality star, who appeared on TOWIE last year, admitted: “I’ve had surgery to ruin my looks. My fake boobs and bum are now my enemy. My body seems to me to be unusual. I don’t need these massive boobs and bums.
She added: “When I look at myself naked in the mirror, all I see are lumps and bumps everywhere.” Lauren shot to fame as part of TOWIE ’s original line-up and quickly became a central figure thanks to her high-profile relationship with co-star Mark Wright, who is now married to Michelle Keegan and has welcomed their first child.
She left the show in 2012 as a result of her breakup, but she quickly returned in 2016 and made the decision to reappear as a cast member last year, claiming that this was the ideal time to do so.
Lauren has openly discussed her numerous appearance changes over the years. She revealed in 2011 that she had had a nose reconstructed after an accident. She then chose breast augmentation surgery in 2013, which increased her cup size from 34D to 34E.
However, she made one of the most significant changes in 2017, when she traveled to Turkey to get a Brazilian bum lift. She now regrets the experience, which she revealed in 2023.
She said, “I’m not sure how I’m going to do that yet,” in a candid manner. I’m not sure if the BBL can be reversed. I’m considering whether to have the fat sucked out, but I’m not sure if that’s a possibility. I’ll research my options by speaking with a lot of different surgeons.
She continued, describing the BBL as “the worst experience” of her life, explaining that she now wants a more natural figure once more but isn’t sure how to do it.
Lip fillers have also featured heavily in Lauren’s beauty journey. In early 2023, she debuted the results of the ‘butterfly effect’ filler trend the same one favoured by Katie Price telling followers: “I’ve just had the butterfly effect lip fillers by Lift Aesthetics, I’ve got the tape on at the minute so I’m talking really weird.
I’m literally swollen, but it’s a new method because it’s so amazing and I’m eager to see the results.
Lauren revealed that her battles with anxiety had previously prevented her from making more lasting changes despite her long-standing openness to treatment and enhancements.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared: “I have suffered tremendous anxiety due to things I’ve been through which led me to being caffeine and alcohol free but also stopped me being able go abroad on holiday or have surgery or so minor treatments I’ve been so bad with anxiety…”
“But today I spoke to the incredible @simonsmithsurgeon because I want to have my implants removed from my boobs. I don’t want them anymore, I just need to get them removed. “I’m eagerly awaiting my natural boobs back,” I say.
As she embraces her natural appearance, Lauren Goodger is ready to leave the past behind one step at a time, from Essex glam queen to a woman on a journey back to herself.
