Late Lawrence touchdown for Jaguars as Chiefs lose again

With 23 seconds left, the Jacksonville Jaguars won 31-28 in the NFL game against the Kansas City Chiefs in a dramatic finale.

As the Jaguars improved their record to 4-1 for the season for the first time since 2007, Lawrence fell before rising up and diving over the line.

“Just frighten,” Sheer panic, Lawrence remarked. We were stepped on coming out because we didn’t have any timeouts on the ground. I was like, “I just need to get up.”

When I realized that there was really no one around me, I decided to throw it out of bounds and stop the clock.

After quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce scored touchdowns, the Chiefs had a 14-0 lead.

Parker Washington and Lawrence scored touchdowns, but Devin Lloyd ran a 99-yard touchdown pass after intercepting a Mahomes pass to give the Jaguars a 21-14 lead.

Before Lawrence’s late intervention, the Chiefs held a 28-24 lead after two Kareem Hunt touchdowns, the second of which came with one minute 45 seconds left.

Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl in 2020, 2023, and 2024, had a third straight loss in five games, but he threw for 318 yards and ran for a team-high 60 yards.
