It has been announced that Sofialite Lady Annabel Goldsmith passed away at the age of 91.

In the swinging ’60s, Lady Annabel was a significant figure, and her husband’s name was given the name of a well-known nightclub in Mayfair, London. After being opened by Lady Annabel’s husband Mark Birley in 1963, Annabel’s is still one of London’s most glamorous nightclubs.

The 8th Marquess of Londonderry’s youngest daughter, Lady Annabel, was born in Londonderry. She was also a significant figure in the 1960s’ swinging, and she was a dear friend of Princess Diana’s passing.

One of the hottest six-foot-square pieces of ground in London, she previously described the nightclub’s name as “the dance floor.”

“I can’t recall seeing it empty. From the Kennedys to the Royal Family, everyone was there, and I once found myself seated next to Frank Sinatra unaware.

The socialite leaves behind Zach Goldsmith, a former Conservative MP for Richmond Park, and Jemima Goldsmith, a producer for films. Her children are said to have been deeply depressed by the socialite’s passing.

In 1949, she became known as Lady Annabel at the age of 15. Two years later, her mother, who was the daughter of Surrey’s Major Boyce Combe, passed away from cancer. Her father passed away in 1955 shortly after her mother’s passing.

Lady Annabel was close to royalty because of Queen Elizabeth II’s 1952 ball. In addition, Lady Annabel was a dear friend of Princess Diana’s passing.

Before her tragic car crash in Paris, Lady Annabel previously revealed the last words her friend Diana exchanged with her.

In the wake of Diana’s death in 2007, Lady Annabel revealed in the final conversation that she needed to marry Dodi Fayed “like a rash on my face.”

It had been sprayed all over the papers, Lady Annabel told a Diana and Dodi death in a report from The Guardian. You are not going to do anything silly, are you? I told her in a laughable manner.

She said, “I would need marriage like a rash on my face, and I meant you weren’t going to do anything stupid like eloping and getting married.” It expressed very Dianaly.

She continued, “She might have been having a wonderful time with him, I’m sure, but I thought her claim that she needed to get married was premature,” implying that she was not serious about it.

In 1954, Lady Annabel wed Mark Birley, her first love. Rupert, Robin, and India Jane, the couple welcomed three kids.

Unfortunately, Rupert vanished off the coast of Togo in West Africa in 1986, and he is now thought to have drowned.

Although their 21-year marriage was a success, Lady Annabel’s extramarital relationship with Sir James Goldsmith was well-known.

She had three more children, Jemima, Zac, and Ben, before getting married to Sir James in 1978.

Lady Annabel once remarked, “Amazing mother, rather than excellent mistress, but not very good wife.”

In 2004 she published her extraordinary life, Annabel: An Unconventional Life: The Memoirs of Lady Annabel Goldsmith.
