Kim Kardashian stated in a statement that she will “never forget” the agonizing ordeal she went through while being held responsible for the Paris robbery.
Kim Kardashian was forced to relive the horrific moment she was held at gunpoint while a group of strangers robbed her while in Paris. The 44 year old mum of four endured the terrifying ordeal back in 2016 and now French authorities have been able to convict the suspects as guilty verdicts were handed out to all eight people involved.
The Kardashians star said in a statement, “The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, and it has had a lasting impact on both me and my family.”
She continued, “I believe in the power of growth and accountability, and pray for healing for all,” adding, “But I’ll never forget what happened.” I continue to fight for justice and for a fair legal system.
Kim’s attorneys, including Michael Rhodes, Léonor Hennerick, and Jonathan Mattou, also released their own statements.
They added that Kim “appreciates the Court’s decision and once more thanks the French authorities for treating her with great respect throughout the process.”
From that terrible night in 2016 to her courageously standing in a historic Paris courtroom to confront these criminals, they continued, “It has been a long journey.”
She continues to work to improve the criminal justice system on behalf of victims, the innocent, and those who are incarcerated and are attempting to redeem themselves, according to their statement’s conclusion.
Due to the fact that they had already served time while awaiting the trial, it is reported that the guilty parties will regrettably not receive additional prison time.
Judge David De Pas of CNN called the sentences “quite lenient.”
They were “considered a very far away from this significant event, which had an impact on the civil parties,” he said. If there isn’t any blood left in the blood, you have caused fear.
The terrified star, who claimed she also feared being attacked by the men involved, had been robbed of $ 10 million worth of jewelry by the armed robbers.
They claimed that “none of them will go back inside a cell due to the health, age, and the fact that they have already spent time in prison.” All of them have come home.
The majority of the jewelry taken is still unrecovered, according to Kim’s legal team. One of the suspects, named Aomar Ait Khedache, who was the ring leader, received an eight-year sentence.
He has been reported to be deaf and unable to speak after spending a lot of time with his illness.
He was given an eight-year prison sentence, but his defense attorney, Chloé Arnoux, said, “He has already served five years in prison. He won’t go.”
The remaining three years will also be suspended, they added, “He was found guilty in 2017 for another sentence concurrently with the most recent one handed down.”
Ms. Arnoux continued, “This decision is also proof that justice can truly correct the situation in ways other than prison.”
