Kim Kardashian reveals real reason she split from Kanye West as his second marriage ‘ends’

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has seemingly revealed the real reason for her marriage to Kanye West falling apart.

The SKIMS founder, who shares four children with the Jesus Walks rapper, admitted “you can’t ever get that person back” one someone changes their personality beyond recognition during a candid chat with her sister Khloe Kardashian about relationships.

Kim, 44, and Kanye, 47, called time on their 10-year romance in 2021 and their divorce was finalised in November 2022. Kanye, legally known as Ye, married Australian architect Bianca Censori the following month but it’s reported the pair have split just days on from their naked dress stunt at the Grammy Awards and Kanye’s anti-Semitic outbursts on social media.

Speaking on the latest instalment of The Kardashians, which also saw the mum-of-four ‘get married’, Kim opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Kanye as her sister Khloe reunited with her ex-husband Lamar Odom after nine years. Khloe admitted to her older sibling that had it not been for Lamar’s drug use, she and the basketball player “would still be married ’til today”.

Khloe’s confession prompted Kim to look back on the end of her time with the father of her four children and admit that when a “person’s personality” changes it can “force your marriage to end”. She told Khloe: “That’s the hardest part. I’ve been there.”

Kim continued: “When you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality and then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back, but you can’t live with the new person. I get it.”

Speaking to camera for a confessional, Kim added: “It’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end, for personal reasons, but circumstances change that force your marriage to end. I’ve been there, Khloe’s been there and when you weren’t planning on that, and it’s not really the outcome you want but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over.”

Kim didn’t refer to Kanye by name at any point but her comments seemingly referenced the well-documented experiences that occurred towards the end of her third marriage. During their time together, Kanye struggled with bipolar disorder and Kim would often speak out regarding his erratic behaviour.

“As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how complicated and painful it is to understand,” Kim once wrote on Instagram.

“Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”

On Thursday, it was reported that Kanye and Bianca were on the verge of a split. However, a spokesperson for the rapper swiftly dismissed the claims, stating: “Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together. Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumour in the tabloid press. Is this the fifth or is it the sixth time the press has wrongly reported that Ye and Bianca are separating? I’ve lost track.”

The couple had allegedly decided to part ways, with Kanye agreeing to pay Bianca a $5 million settlement after their two-year marriage, amid reports of a rift caused by his disturbing social media outbursts.
