Kerry Katona has given her fans a Valentine’s Day update as she basks in the sunshine in Thailand. The former Atomic Kitten star, who confirmed she had split with fiancé Ryan Mahoney last November, is currently on holiday with her daughter Heidi.
The mum-of-five told OK! magazine last week: “It’s Valentine’s day on Friday and I’m quite glad I’ll be away on holiday for it since it’s my first one single in a long time. It will be a bit strange without Ryan, but he was never great at Valentine’s gifts anyway.
“I’ve never been really into Valentine’s day so I’m feeling okay, I think it’s a bit gimmicky, although I did get married once on 14 February!” Early on Friday, Kerry shared a video with her 852,000 Instagram followers, as she said she “wanted to be one of the very first people to wish you Happy Valentine’s Day”.
She added that the purpose of the video was also to “let you all know that yes I am in a relationship”. Kerry continued: “It is extremely serious … how do I say this? It’s with myself. And I plan on staying single for a very, very, very, very, very, very long time.
“Although I do get to spend Valentine’s [in Thailand] which is absolutely beautiful, with my daughter, our Heidi.” Wrapping up with a loving message, she added: “So Happy Valentine’s Day everybody, there’s love everywhere”.
