Pop superstar Katy Perry is said to be “flattered” by her blossoming relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after the pair were recently pictured sharing a passionate kiss aboard her yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara.
Sources claim the unlikely couple have been “secretly dating since early summer”, and though their busy schedules have kept them apart, they’ve managed to stay in constant contact.
An insider claimed : “They haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together as she’s on tour, but they’re constantly in contact — always FaceTiming and messaging each other.”

Romance rumours about the Firework singer, 40, and the politician, 53, first began swirling in July, when the two were spotted enjoying dinner together at an upscale restaurant in Montreal called Le Violon.
They were sighted together just a month after Katy announced her split from her long-time fiancé, Orlando Bloom, 48. Neither Katy nor Trudeau addressed the speculation surrounding their potential newfound romance in August.
However, the rumours only intensified when the politician was seen attending one of her concerts and enthusiastically singing along to Katy’s hits in the city just two days later.
According to friends, both of them have been pleasantly surprised by the other’s attention. “He’s a bit of a geek and can’t believe someone as famous and glamorous as Katy is interested in him,” The Sun’s source continued. “Whereas she’s flattered such a respected politician wants to date her.”
The photos of the couple in Katy’s 78ft yacht show Trudeau shirtless, with his hand playfully resting on Katy’s bottom. Witnesses said they appeared “completely smitten,” and were laughing and embracing as they soaked up the California sun aboard the Caravelle.
Katy’s new relationship marks a new chapter after her high-profile breakup with Orlando Bloom. The pair share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
Katy and Orlando had been together on and off since 2016, and even got engaged in 2019. But behind the scenes, their relationship had reportedly become strained over the past year.
Friends claimed that their demanding careers and very different lifestyles began to take a toll on their partnership. Katy’s decision to join the Blue Origin space flight in April also allegedly caused tension between them, and insiders have claimed Orlando “didn’t approve” of her taking part in what critics called an environmentally harmful mission.
Things reportedly reached breaking point when Katy began her tour in Mexico City in May. During one emotional performance of her 2010 hit Pearl, she was seen wiping away tears while singing the lyrics, ‘I let him rule my world.’
By June, the pair confirmed they had ended their engagement, releasing a joint statement that read: “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
After the split, Orlando attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish Venice wedding alone, while Katy concentrated on her world tour.
Sources close to the singer said that despite the sadness of the breakup, she was relieved they were not married yet and did not have to get divorced.
Tensions briefly resurfaced after Katy was linked to Justin Trudeau. Orlando Bloom appeared to take a swipe at the romance when he commented on a satirical post jokingly pairing him with retired politician Angela Merkel. His reaction reportedly “humiliated” Katy, who had hoped they could remain on friendly terms post-split.
