Amy Price, mother of glamour model icon Katie Price, hasn’t got the fondest memories of her former son-in-law Peter Andre, even claiming he used her daughter to boost his profile
Katie Price will always have a loyal supporter in the form of her mother, with Amy Price previously slamming her daughter’s first ex-husband, Peter Andre.
Amy once branded the Mysterious Girl singer as “toxic” and even expressed a desire for granddaughter Princess Andre not to sign with her dad’s management team and forge her own path instead.
Despite divorcing in 2009, exes Katie and Peter’s feud has reached new heights last week when Peter released a damning statement about his former spouse. It comes as Alex Reid, Katie’s second ex-husband, shared a video raising questions about the bankrupt star’s finances.

Writing in The Last Word, her 2023 memoir, Amy claimed Peter used his romance with her daughter to revive his career and walked away from her once he was back on his feet.
Katie and Peter found love Down Under thanks to their stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2004, and went on to tie the knot two years later. The former couple welcomed two children into the world together – son Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 18 – before splitting in 2009.
Many were shocked by the split, but Amy wasn’t too surprised as she always had a bad feeling about her one-time son-in-law. “From the word go, something didn’t feel right about Peter; I had an inkling that he wasn’t who he claimed to be,” she wrote in her book.
The mum-of-three also revealed she warned her daughter, “whatever you do, do not end up with him” before entering camp. Discussing Peter’s celebrity status before and after his time on the show, Amy penned: “His career was in decline and I think he saw an opportunity in my daughter, an opportunity he was quick to seize.”
Last week, Peter publicly rejected Katie’s offer to meet with him and his management team, The Can Group, following a fresh fallout over Katie’s ban from appearing on Princess’ new ITV reality TV show.
“For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today,” Peter began in his furious statement, before making claims about past custody arrangements.
Writing in her 2023 book, Amy accused The Can group of slanting media coverage in Peter’s favour in the wake of his split from her daughter, and expressed her desire for her grandchildren to distance themselves from the management team.
“My greatest wish for my grandchildren is for them to find their own way in life and I sometimes wonder if they might be better off seeking out new management who can offer a fresh perspective on their careers,” she wrote.
Earlier this week, those close to Peter said that the dad-of-five had been left “shocked” by comments made by his former wife, Katie. The former glamour model has been spotted counting cash in footage released by her ex, Alex Reid, despite being declared bankrupt twice.
In the explosive video, she tells her and Peter’s daughter, Princess, 18, that her younger siblings, Pete’s children with his wife Emily, were “irrelevant.” Katie can be seen tallying money in the clip, before asking her daughter whether singer Peter “go on about” her bankruptcy and finances “a lot”.
Whilst seated on a sofa, the television personality said she was “enjoying counting” the cash, adding: “There’s loads here… I’m just sorting it out.”
Princess asked if Katie would be contributing to her’s and Junior’s private school fees, before Katie says: “Your dad can sit on that,” while raising her middle finger.
An insider revealed to the Mirror: “He’s so shocked that she would do this in front of their young child and saying his young children are irrelevant. It’s not about the money. How could a mother do that about young children?”.
In response, a representative for Peter stated that he was bringing in his legal team. A spokesperson for Price informed the Mirror: “This is a video that was shared with Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago, and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee’s investigations into the same.
“The cash featured did not belong to Katie, and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie’s divorce from Peter Andre. Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate.”
