Bayern Munich’s perfect start to the Bundesliga season was capped by Harry Kane’s double goals, which he scored twice on Friday to send Bayern Munich’s perfect 4-0 win over Werder Bremen.
Kane surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland’s record of 105 games played together in his 104th game for Bayern, breaking the previous record of 100 goals scored with a team in Europe’s top five leagues.
In the current Bundesliga campaign, the England striker averages two goals per game.
Bayern won their fifth game in five league games with a brace from Kane and goals from Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer in a stylish manner for the first weekend of Oktoberfest.
In the opening moments of the opening period, Kane and Michael Olise carved through Bremen’s defense and had two chances to score.
He was denied by Karl Hein, an Arsenal loanee, and his Bremen debutant, on the second try, who had skewed the first chance wide.
After Olise’s fizzing cross from Tah, he took a stylish backheel off of Luis Diaz’s knee to give Bayern the lead in 22 minutes.
Bayern should have scored on the break, but as the first half progressed, they started to become more and more restricted.
Just before the break, Kane struck with a foul on Marco Friedl in the bottom corner and slammed the penalty head down the right.
He scored his 100th goal in a Bayern shirt 20 minutes after Diaz had given up a pass to him to complete his century.
After scoring a well-placed cross three minutes in, Laimer added a fourth. This was Kane’s night, not his first at Allianz Arena.
The former Tottenham striker has so far this season scored 15 goals in all competitions.
His incredible form comes amid rumors that point to a move to Barcelona or a Premier League return the following summer.
However, Christoph Freund, Bayern’s sport director, dismissed those reports as rumors ahead of the game.
Bayern Munich players are frequently mentioned, but when you learn how entertaining and diligently working Harry is, you can only hope that he will stay with us for a long time, Freund said.
The 32-year-old was “the best Harry Kane we’ve ever seen,” he said in his current form.
