Now, his latest online behavior is under scrutiny after he left a remark on 17-year-old actress Ariana Greenblatt’s Instagram post. Greenblatt, known for her role in Barbie, recently shared a series of glamorous behind-the-scenes photos from the Fear Street: Prom Queen premiere.
Dressed in a shimmering black sequin mini dress, the young star captioned the post: “Fear Street: Prom Queen is out now on netflix!!! horror had always been one of my favorite genres and to have this movie be my introduction into the world was an honor.”

Many online users felt the singer had overstepped the bounds, even though it is believed that the two are close friends (Bieber reportedly followed her on Instagram in November of that year) and that she had made a skincare line for herself, Hailey Bieber.
The response was swift and unforgiving, especially on Reddit where users expressed concern over the age gap between the two. One top comment read: “She’s underaged and he’s a grown man.” The same commenter went on to note that Greenblatt “looks so similar to Selena Gomez so him just commenting to her like that makes it even weirder.”
When a 31-year-old man comments on a 17-year-old girl’s profile, in all likelihood is it appropriate to do so.
Others echoed the sentiment, calling the statement “creepy” and “disturbing.” One particularly harsh criticism was, “He is 31 and this little girl is 17!” He could have written a sweet, appropriate message in support of her, but there was a fine.
Some fans felt that Bieber’s actions were disrespectful toward his wife, Hailey, despite the fact that she was only 18 years old. After her Vogue cover, one user commented, “Justin seems to be supporting a 17-year-old girl and Chris Brown than his own wife.” He seems to take advantage of her every chance to humiliate her.
The controversy comes after Bieber’s series of public blunders, most notably his now-deleted Instagram post in which he admitted to telling Hailey she’d never land a Vogue cover and later apologized, writing: “So baby, you already know, but forgive me for saying you wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz obviously I was mistaken.”
Bieber hasn’t commented on the Greenblatt incident despite growing criticism. In a spirit of good will, he’s continued to appear in public, most recently in West Hollywood as a result of the ongoing controversy surrounding his online behavior.
