Joe McElderry, the former X Factor champion, responded to abuse on social media with a perfect response.
Former X Factor winner Joe McElderry put online bullies firmly in their place as he clapped back at weight jibes. The singer took to social media to slam those who said he was piling on the weight.
And in a photo upload, Joe, 34, proved they don’t know what they ware talking about. Not prepared to let the hurtful comments slide, Joe shared a topless snap on his Instagram to prove the trolls wrong.
He revealed that an online user had targeted him because of how he looked, “like a house end.” In Joe’s native north-eastern dialect, the term is used to describe a heavier person.

He wrote, “Wake up this morning to a comment that, for those not from the North, basically refers to me as fat.” Social media is crazy, isn’t it, to be honest? What can people say about other people, in their minds?
Joe continued by joking that he “did what any self-respecting person would do… threw on my sparkly sequin pants, said “f the haters,” and left the tour, which was reportedly sold out.
He later acknowledged that, in spite of his impressive physique, “we’ve normalized saying horrible things and doing horrible things to each other; it’s not normal to behave that way!” Therefore, this serves as a reminder to “never let the keyboard warriors get you down.”
His followers overwhelmingly endorsed his statements. Hayley Soraya, an actress, once praised his post, saying, “They obviously don’t know how to spell FIT.
Another once said, “Love attracts love for love, and love attracts love for love for love.” Congratulations on your self-assurance, so don’t get offended by negative comments. Keep your faith, Joe, because your sold-out performances and support from your supporters “show the truth”!
Joe, who was crowned the winner of the ITV talent show in 2009 – beating Olly Murs to the title – recently revealed to the Mirror the surprise moment a goldfish was thrown at him during a festival performance. He explained how he initially thought it was a football.
He said, “Years ago, I was playing a concert in Ireland,” in reference to the bizarre incident. And since it was a large outdoor festival, I thought someone might have thrown a football, or something, at the stage because this huge football-looking object flew over and landed right next to me on the other side of the stage.
Someone actually chose to throw a goldfish in a bag at the stage after it had been won. And the stage was merely a goldfish in a bag.
The unfortunate thing did survive. However, I believe that some security personnel attempted to care for it when they returned it.
