He wrote in a heartbreaking caption on Instagram, “Heartbroken to learn that Joan, my wife and partner for 50 years, has passed away. Our children and grandchildren could have wished for the most wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was “my world, my best friend, and my rock.” I’ll miss you forever, Joan X.
At the age of 80, Lady Joan and Sir Richard had two children. She has long been referred to as the billionaire’s “rock” and his “source of wisdom.” In February of next year, they were scheduled to celebrate their 50th anniversary.


Many followers of his post shared their condolences and personal destruction in the comments section. TV host Andrea Minski was one of them when she wrote, “I’m so sorry, my friend.. I’m extending you a heartfelt hug.
“Your wife was very special to me. She always gave me the best mother advice at Necker, and we always talk over champagne. I’m thinking of you and your family, and I’m sending you all my love and strength.
Sara Blakely, a businesswoman, also remarked, “Oh Richard, I’m sorry. Heartbroken . I want to show my family and you a lot of love.
She is “the best,” she says. the best . You two are so lucky to have each other for so long.
Sir Richard gushed about his wife’s milestone 80th birthday over the summer. He wrote in a statement on social media in July, “Thank you for being by my side throughout it all, both the highs and the lows, and all those quiet, content, and peaceful moments in between.” I cherish these special times with you the most, and I grow in love with you more and more each year.
They first met at The Manor in 1976. Sir Richard admitted that he “fell in love” with his wife at first sight in the live-in recording studio at Virgin Records.
