Before Halloween, Jessica competed on ITV’s singing competition X Factor and went on to perform on Eurovision. They reveal what they did that was the scariest thing they had ever done, and which one of them could see ghosts.

For most people, auditioning for a televised singing competition, like the X Factor, would be one of the scariest things they could do. But not Jedward! With Halloween just around the corner, the Irish double act shared what the scariest thing they’ve done is and which one of them can see ghosts.

When asked what the scariest thing they’ve done is, both members of Jedward – consisting of twins John and Edward Grimes – told The Mirror that it was heading to a haunted house for a Halloween movie marathon. Not because the films themselves were especially scary, but because of the paranormal activity they could feel going on there.

“I think we’re always in contact with the paranormal,” John said. Edward added: “I’ve seen ghosts since I was 12 or 13.” Still, they went to The Ancient Ram Inn, supposedly Britain’s most haunted house, for a Halloween film fest in collaboration with M&Ms. While there, they encountered what they believed to be a spirit or a witch.

Because they drove us to the edge of nowhere, Edward continued, “It was really frightening.” I had a makeup brush, and it was the most spooky location ever to be recorded. All of a sudden, the brush was soaked. I’m not sure if a witch or ghost used the brush to pat themselves before it vanished completely.

Edward felt his visions deteriorated after an operation he had a few years ago despite having seen ghosts since he was a teenager. Before and after having an operation, I noticed a light on the door at the end of my bed. Whoever is there, please leave me alone, I didn’t want to go to sleep, so I did.

He must imagine an “aura bubble” around him to deal with it. “It was a Jepic spirit thing that kept me safe and in the aura bubble around me.”

The twins first gained notoriety as X Factor contestants in 2008, and they placed sixth overall thanks to their enthusiastic performances and bold, bold personalities.

Although they have released music since then and plans to do so once more soon, John specifically wants to release a Halloween track, they have been working on other projects.

Jedward have had many TV shows and been on other competition shows, such as Celebrity Big Brother, where they met bestie Gemma Collins, and The Big Deal, where they were judges.

They are now encouraging their viewers to participate in the Haunted Sofa Challenge, a website where viewers can submit their thoughts on spooky movies.
