Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have shared an emotional career move as they rebrand their famous podcast from NewlyWeds to NearlyParents, just days after announcing pregnancy
Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have announced they will be rebranding their podcast in an emotional video after announcing their pregnancy earlier in the week. Jamie, 36, and Sophie, 30, shared the news about their pregnancy in a sweet social media post on Tuesday.
The couple started their first podcast NearlyWeds when they were planning their wedding in 2022. The podcast then evolved to NewlyWeds in 2023 before they announced they were taking a break in May 2025.
After leaving fans in suspense for the past few weeks, they have now announced their latest rebrand. NewlyParents is being described as their ‘new chapter’ and fans don’t have to wait long as the podcast will be back on Monday, 9 June.
To announce their new career move, the reality favourites shared an emotional video where they are seen looking back at some of the most memorable moments from their relationship. Including reflecting on their Made In Chelsea days, and reading their wedding speeches.
Fans were delighted with the news as one person commented: “I am so excited for this you have no idea, you guys are going to be the best parents. I can’t wait to come along on your journey”, while another said: “Huge congratulations. This is beautiful”.
The couple, who have also recently started working together on BBC Radio 1, shared their pregnancy news with an emotional video where they see their baby on an ultrasound scan. They captioned the video with a simple red heart.
As the baby pops up on the screen in the clip, Jamie excitedly says: “Are you kidding me”. Jamie pans the camera around the room onto Sophie, who has the biggest smile on her face as the couple hears the baby’s heartbeat.
Sophie has replaced Vick Hope on the Going Home show, which runs from Monday to Thursday between 3.30 pm and 6 pm. Vick, who is expecting her first child with husband Calvin Harris, has left the station to go on maternity leave.
Jamie shared the news on his Instagram account, joking about them being the first married couple presenting. He said: “I’m so excited to be joining the Radio 1 family… Turns out we’re the first ever Married couple to do it together, soooo I’m not too sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing – hopefully we don’t argue on the Radio! Get ready for the chaos – Catch you on Monday.”
Their journey began on the reality series Made in Chelsea, where the public was able to watch their love blossom. After dating for several years, Jamie got down on one knee at the Rosewood London hotel in December 2021, where he and Sophie shared their first ever date, and popped the question.
The couple are also currently renovating their first home together in London. They are once again allowing fans to follow their journey through their vlogs, which they upload to YouTube.
