Just a few months after earning a BRIT Award, former Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall will retire from performing solo on Radio 1’s Big Weekender.
BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend has welcomed BRIT-Award winner Jade Thirlwall to the stage – and the former Little Mix singer admitted to having ‘personal struggles’ as she addressed the crowds. Over the course of the weekend, some of the biggest names descended on Sefton Park, including Tom Grennan, Sam Fender, Natasha Bedingfield, and Mumford and Sons.
Jade, 32, is kicking off the festival with hits like IT Girl and Angel of My Dreams. Fans took to X to yell about the singer after taking the stage and declaring, “Jade is the biggest icon to ever exist. Another phrase was repeated: “Jade’s talent is genuinely unmatched.”
Jade was blown away by the number of people entering the tent, according to a source at the event. After the Spice Girls and Girls Aloud, she joined the biggest female band from the UK, but she soon realized it was an “insane crowd” when she performed for her first solo show.
She praised the audience and herself without swearing. She explained to her fans that she was experiencing difficulties when Angel Of My Dreams appeared.
It comes after Jade announced the release of her first solo album, which marks one of her most significant personal accomplishments since Little Mix’s breakup.
The singer took to Instagram to tell fans about the news earlier this month, captioning: “THEY BABY! My debut album is due out on September 12th. A striking image of Jade’s album artwork, which appears to be her, was displayed at the announcement along with a picture of her in four different poses and outfits.
After achieving fame as a member of Little Mix, the four-member girl group that was formed on The X Factor in 2011, Jade has already spent a decade in the spotlight.
The band went on to become one of the most popular girl bands in the country, winning numerous Brit Awards and doing international tours. Jade began her solo career in May 2022 after the band took a break.
She has already won two Brit Awards and a spot at Glastonbury, which she has already achieved on her own. Fans were excited to hear about her debut solo album. One person remarked, “Bring it on, I can’t wait!” Another gushed, “EVERYBODY MOVE SHE’S SAVING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. “
The artist made fun of the fact that Pablo Bowman, Lostboy, and RAYE will be featured on her debut album. In October, Jade will also begin her first tour of the UK and Ireland.

Jade has recently discussed the more difficult aspects of being in the public eye in an interview for ITV’s The Assembly, despite receiving praise from music fans who are thrilled by her new music.
