Isak Edges Closer To Liverpool Move After Newcastle Sign Woltemade

After Newcastle United signed German international striker Nick Woltemade for a club record fee that is thought to be worth up to £69 million ($93 million), Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool came a step closer on Saturday.

Woltemade, 23, who won two games in the championship, has “a long term deal,” according to Newcastle, and his fee is more than the £63 million the Magpies paid La Liga side Real Sociedad for Isak three years ago.

Liverpool have targeted Isak, 25, and the Premier League champions are prepared to improve their offer to the Sweden striker after their original £110 million offer was rejected.

Woltemade, who has signed for Newcastle since the end of last season, described it as a significant change for him, but the 6-foot-6 inch (1.98 meters) giant striker was anticipating it.

Woltemade, who scored 17 goals in 33 games last term across all competitions, said, “I felt like the club really wanted me and had big plans for me.”

Everyone has welcomed me so warmly and it already feels like family to me despite the fact that it is a big step in my life to leave Germany.

Speaking with the head coach, I know this is where I should be to reach my highest level, and I think that’s what I need to do.

“I have seen games on television and have witnessed the stadium, and I know the atmosphere is crazy.”

Woltemade, who was the top scorer at this summer’s Under-21 European Championships, was a perfect fit, according to Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, who has endured a frustrating transfer market.

Howe praised Howe, who “fits the profile for what we have been looking to add to our attacking options.”

He is strong in many areas, has excellent technical skills, and has established himself as a real threat in one of Europe’s top leagues, but is also still in a stage of development and development.

Nick is also a fantastic character.

Isak has been training alone since expressing his desire to move to Anfield, scoring for Newcastle in the Champions League and winning the League Cup last year.

Because of the negative effects a sale would have on Newcastle’s profit and sustainability calculations, Howe had made the first hint on Friday that he might be reluctant to let Isak leave.

A sizable return on their investment in Isak would ease any concerns about the Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) since Newcastle were forced to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh last year to avoid a points deduction.
