Is there enough international political will to probe war crimes in Gaza?

According to the UN, justice without peace is not possible.

Nearly 68, 000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza in the past two years, including 20 000 children.

Following last week’s agreement on a ceasefire, the bombing campaign has largely stopped for the time being.

However, the Israeli military’s actions over the past 24 months were unprecedentedly closely monitored, documented, and archived.

A UN Commission of Inquiry discovered in September that Israel had committed a genocide in Gaza. And this week, South Africa claimed that the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) genocide case will not be impacted by the ceasefire.

However, unless member nations of the UN decide to act, the ICJ is unable to carry out arrests.

Will Israel be held accountable, or will impunity follow?
