After a ski trip with the family, Stacey Solomon returned to the UK. While they created lasting memories, they resorted to packed lunches and shared lodging to lower the “extortionate” costs.
The Sort Your Life Out star, 35, hit the slopes in Switzerland with husband Joe Swash, 43, and their five children, Zachary, 16 and Leighton, 12, from Stacey’s former relationships, along with Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. The clan were joined by other members of Stacey’s family, including her sister Jemma Solomon and their rarely-seen brother, who took part in the family half-term getaway on the slopes.
The devoted mother of five took a number of photos throughout their time on the icy slopes, including a moving post shortly after returning to Pickle Cottage in the UK. Stacey reflected on their week by remarking that the ski family “probably won’t talk to each other for a few weeks” along with a number of family photos. I’m joking (but not) it’s been the most special, tiring, adrenaline pumping, crazy week. Everyone is exhausted, but the BEST memories have been made, in my opinion.
I’m so happy to be able to go skiing with my pickles. Additionally, it’s been wonderful to see my brother. Since moving here, I have grown sorely miss him. I’m so proud of the kids &, how they powered through &, became so so confident on the slopes. What a special week. I’m now home and try to rest up before school starts on Monday P.S. I ended up loving Joe’s suit more than he did, and I could see him from a distance of a mile away! but he chose not to put it on.
In front of the breathtaking Swiss mountains, Stacey and Joe greeted their five children, all dressed up in ski boots, winter gear, and salopettes. Another snap showed their youngest children, Rose and Bella, sweetly posing in front of their parents, with Joe boasting a colourful, vibrant ski suit while Stacey wore her monochrome printed outfit.
Stacey’s sister Jemma and their brother were also captured on another heartwarming moment during the family vacation, even though Stacey revealed to her 6M followers that her brother was “camera shy,” so chooses to keep his face from the spotlight. Stacey revealed they all stayed in the white, fluffy snow that the children were playing in before getting additional photos taken outside their traditional wooden lodge.
In a post on her Instagram Story, she tagged the location, Villars-sur-Ollon, and wrote:” Is where we stayed. It’s close to my brother &, the mountain is PERFECT for kids as the nursery slope is big, the ski school is excellent &, the runs aren’t too intimidating. “
The TV star explained that one of the reasons people continued to stay in the lodge was to lower their costs, calling Swiss prices “extortionate.” In her ever-honest way, Stacey shared in another post:” We hired a lodge &, all stayed together. Skiing is so expensive we had to try &, find the cheapest option for everyone. “
She continued:” We made sandwiches every day for lunch because food on the mountain is extortionate. And we all turned up to cook dinner. We had dinner together and then stayed in the lodge together, which was a lot of fun, so I actually prefer it to a hotel, so Acey ended the post with: “Switzerland in general is extremely expensive.
While the family flew back to the UK, Stacey explained that they didn’t fly there as the prices were, again”, extortionate “and” through the roof. “Instead, they got the train there and flew back, with Stacey revealing it was” less than a quarter of the price. “
