The Progressive Governors’ Forum is supporting President Bola Tinubu in responding to the country’s growing security concerns, just as it is urging governors to use community policing to defend their states.  ,
Hope Uzodimma, the forum’s chairman and governor of Imo State, tells journalists in Abuja that the governors are also considering the issue of state police in accordance with Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia’s proposal.  ,
Governor Uzodimma added that the forum will continue to support President Tinubu so that he can address the nation’s security issues.
During a stakeholder gathering during President Tinubu’s visit to Benue State, Alia demanded that state police take care of the country’s security issues.

I believe the federal government can address these issues by creating precise state-specific guidelines and regulatory frameworks to prevent any potential misuse, despite the concerns I have regarding its implementation.
In response to growing concerns about national security, governors from across Nigeria are currently gathered in Abuja for a meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).
Numerous state governors and deputy governors from all the federation’s 36 states are present at the meeting, which is taking place at the Forum’s secretariat in Abuja.
The presence of the Minister of Defense, Mohammed Badaru, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, clearly indicates that discussions are focused on pressing security issues.
