I’m A Celeb star Angry Ginge was only in Australia for a matter of minutes before he started trolling the press – and aimed a dig at one of his famous campmates. The 23-year-old YouTuber and gamer, who has more than 1.3million followers on Twitch, was mobbed by fans when he landed at Brisbane Airport.

The Salford star was greeted by reporters including the Mirror’s Tom Bryant, and joked that he is in Australia because he’d been invited by some of his co-stars. He said: “I got a random phone call last night off Kelly Brook saying she’s coming to visit her Auntie Sheila and do I want to join her? I said: ‘I might as well’.

The internet star, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, added: “Then Lisa Riley rings me and says she’s doing Dingles Down Under, do I want to join her? I said I might as well. Then Aitch said he’s going on tour so I said I’ll join him as well.”

In a dig at his future campmate Aitch, 25, he laughed: “I’m not the number one fan of his music, but he’s a good guy.”

Aitch, whose real name is Harrison James Armstrong, is a rapper from Manchester whose hits include the 2018 song Straight Rhymez and who reached No2 with his album Close To Home in 2022. Like Angry Ginge, he is a supporter of Manchester United.

Angry Ginge was the fourth star to arrive in Australia to appear on the show, following Kelly, Lisa and Aitch, who had all made implausible excuses for why they were touching down in the country ahead of I’m A Celeb’s return on Sunday 16 November. Former EastEnders star Shona McGarty later arrived in the airport too.

Other celebs jetting to Australia include Spandeau Ballet star Martin Kemp, comic Ruby Wax, sports TV presenter Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne. They are expected to be joined by comic Eddie Kadi and presenter Vogue Williams.

Talking about his prospects in the jungle, Angry Ginge told the Mirror: “I did a Duke of Edinburgh bronze award at school so I am not too bad at camping . One of the reasons I vowed to never go to Australia was because of the spiders and animals so I am hoping the hotel is secure.”

The star is already the bookies’ favourite to win the show, with odds of 3-1. He is following in the running by Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson, Martin Kemp and Aitch himself.
