Alan Halsall, known for his long-running role as Tyrone Dobbs on Coronation Street, was a notable participant in the 2024 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

Hosts Ant and Dec announced on December 6, 2024, that both Alan and GK Barry had been eliminated from the show, despite not being able to watch these scenes.

Alan, who is a lifelong vegetarian, revealed that his meal experiences on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! were quite different from the other contestants. After being asked what he ate while he was in the jungle, Alan later claimed that he received special care for his meals, which were never made public.

He responded to one fan’s question on Instagram, “Did you give up being vegetarian while in the jungle?” and he posted an open Q&amp, A to fans. Alan replied: “No they send a veggie equivalent. Generally something very bland, plain tofu… etc”.

Alan, who has been part of Coronation Street since 1998, is one of the soap’s most recognized stars. A loyal fan base has come to him thanks to his portrayal of Tyrone, a character who has gone through significant personal growth over the years. While on I’m a Celebrity, Alan reflected on the experience, sharing that it was not what he expected, but he formed strong friendships with the other contestants

Despite his exit, Alan’s time in the jungle was well-received, and he had previously expressed his support for other contestants, including Danny Jones

Outside of TV, Alan has a daughter, Sienna, with his ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson. In 2005, the two met on Coronation Street’s set. Earlier today, Alan reunited with Sienna after flying home from Australia.

When he was on the way back home from Oz, Alan mentioned how much his daughter, 11, and former Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, both 11, were missing. Taking to his Instagram Q&amp, A, he admitted it was “impossible put into words” how excited he was to see Sienna-Rae.

The Tyrone Dobbs actor also mentioned how much his daughter would miss him if I’m a Celeb was thrown in. Speaking to his fellow campmates, he touched on how the 11-year-old reacted to him going on the show, admitting: “That’s going to be really difficult. She has found the idea of me going difficult. She has only recently begun to accept the idea after roughly two weeks.

We never travel more than two weeks apart. It will be interesting to see how I cope because I’m sensitive to Siena. I usually try to hide my emotions, but with Siena, I’ll have a few blubs. She is 11 and so I’m hoping I won’t embarrass her. “
