TV star Ruby Wax said her hotel is “trash” and was changing rooms already as she opens up about going into the Jungle this Sunday

TV presenter Ruby Wax has blasted the hotel she’s been put up in ahead of the jungle by ITV bosses – as she also joked about suing producers. The comic, 71, had only landed in Australia a few hours earlier when she hit out at her accommodation. She blasted: “This hotel is just trash… I am complaining and changing rooms already.”

When pushed on whether hunger and exhaustion could bring out a different side to her as she enters the jungle, she made it clear the show’s producers should be the ones who are worried.

“Oh, then I would get snarly, but not to anybody. I would just get snarly at the people who are producing this show and remind them that they are insured and I could sue them.”

Ruby – who has famously interviewed some of the world ’s biggest names – joked she could bring plenty of stories with her, including tales about Donald Trump, OJ Simpson and Sarah Ferguson.

“Oh, Donald Trump I do not think is too worried,” she said. “I think there is a whole country that might agree with me… I do not think he will be listening to the show, so I will be okay.”

She said campmates will hear her Trump stories whether they want them or not. “Oh, they will come out of my mouth,” she promised. The comedian, who admits she’s doing the show partly to shift a few pounds, added: “Well, I am kind of chubby now. You know the stomach is over the top of the jean, and so part of the reason I am doing this is for dietary reasons.”

Ruby also revealed her children are horrified she’s taking part. “My children were horrified, because I am in total embarrassment to them in general,” she said. “My existence is mortifying to my children. The fact that I breathe is an embarrassment.” Despite nerves about heights – and a recurring fear of being in a plane crash – she says she’s not a quitter. “No, not at all, unless they surprise me, if they throw me off a cliff, I guess I will be leaving.”
