The latest batch of celebrities to take on life in the Australian outback are seen getting squeamish as they jump from the chopper and face a grisly trial in a preview clip
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here gets underway tonight with the latest batch of famous faces set to take on the gruelling challenge of life in the jungle. With an explosive season ahead, the stars are seen arriving with a bang in a new preview video that shows the contestants literally diving headfirst into campmate life.
In the clip, contestants Aitch, Kelly Brook, Eddie Kadi, Shona McGarty and Martin Kemp are seen making the iconic helicopter ride to the coastline where hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are waiting for them on a huge yellow star. The duo then tell them via a megaphone that their only route down is via a parachute.
While Aitch is seen hyped up for the jump, the same can’t be said for everyone, with Kelly appearing horrified as she responds, saying: “What?” as Martin quips: “No, no.”
Eddie is seen wide-eyed in bewilderment at the baptism of fire that awaits. The five are then seen tied to their guides as they jump from the helicopter with plenty of screaming afoot.
The camera then cuts to the lavish house where Ruby Wax, Angry Ginge, Lisa Riley, Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne are seen turning up in a Love Island-esque walking in slo-mo compilation.
However, the glamour ends there as they are tasked with having their heads shut into individual wire cages with a wooden frame, as Ant warns, “you will have company in there,” before snakes are dumped on top of them.
The hilarious clip sees Alex, Jack and Ruby initially remaining admirably calm, as Angry Ginge is heard pleading “please tell us what it is first, tell us what it is first,” as the panic sets in. Lisa, meanwhile, is heard exclaiming: “Oh my God, it’s a snake, oh my God, it’s a frickin’ snake,” as the slithery companions are piled on top of her head.
ITV have promised fans a “launch show like no other” as the series gets underway with plenty of twists and turns expected. The rumoured late arrivals for the show are expected to be Vogue Williams, who was spotted at the VIP opening of Winter Wonderland in London just days ago, and Tom Read Wilson.
Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that the stars of I’m A Celeb will have to survive 72 hours in the jungle to secure their full I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fee. The stars must comply with a lesser-known rule of the ITV show or risk forfeiting their fee.
According to reports, celebrities must stay in the jungle for at least 72 hours to earn their wage; otherwise, they risk leaving Australia empty-handed.
While it doesn’t sound that long when faced with the harsh conditions of sleeping in the outback and a lack of food, many stars have been known to crumble under pressure.
The highly anticipated new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off tonight at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
