It was unlike anything I’ve seen before at a family party hosted by the broadcaster at Vanessa Feltz’s North London home, which is anything but generic.
From a gothic-style exterior to bright pink kitchen décor, Vanessa Feltz’s home is as unpredictable as you’d expect from the outspoken broadcaster.
I imagine the house must always be this chaotic as I arrive at Vanessa’s North London home to celebrate the launch of her daughter Saskia Joss’ debut book.
There is plenty going on with the TV star’s grandchildren running around the kitchen in fits of giggles, her daughter anxiously pacing before friends and family can read her book, and Vanessa frantically finishing touches on the home.

As I scan recent Fabulous shoots to the historic OK, I notice the magazine covers of Vanessa from over the years adorn the back door entrance wall. Several decades ago, these same homes were the subject of these mag interviews.
Previously owned by millionaire businessman Charles Saatchi, Vanessa has lived in her quirky home for 22 years, meaning guests that pile in across the evening – including Helen Flanagan, Anthea Turner, and Katie Piper – know their way around.
On the outside of the home is a religious messaging on a small plaque, with a statement front door adding to the gothic charm of the building. “I love Feltz Towers, I’m very happy to be here” squeals Anthea Turner as she pops around the driveway hedge before walking into the bash.
However, while I’m nearby sipping on a Diet Coke, TV personality Lizzie Cundy and celebrity hairstylist Nikki Clarke pause outside to pose for photos with her.
Help!, Saskia’s newest book, is the focus of the bash. Vanessa has made every effort to ensure the milestone is celebrated because My Child’s Anxiety Is Giving Me Anxiety! It’s obvious that Vanessa is not a novice at hosting parties at home, with some setting up an “adults arts and crafts” station at a dining table, others setting up a massage station, and others preparing a long line of charcuterie bites in the living room.
In a moment of silence, the broadcaster and her daughter sit down for an interview with me while wearing a black embellished dress. She is wearing a statement blue gown to go with the book cover.
As her granddaughter Cecily interrupts by cuddling her and her mother frequently, Vanessa says, “I am unbelievably proud of Saskia, I’m incredibly excited, and she has written the most wonderful book.”
Saskia, who is a certified child therapist by trade, says, “I’m very pleased to be doing this here with my mum at her house. She just shows me how much she supports me when she organizes such a stunning celebration of a life-affirming occasion.
A beaming Vanessa, who has two daughters, Allegra and Saskia, yells “we’ve got a very close relationship” to her ex-husband, Michael Kurer. I have two daughters, and we are all very close. I can see my other daughter looking gorgeous there. We all support one another and share a lot of pride.
A young DJ has opened up shop by the domed art-deco window and a table of drinks has been set up in the far corner of Vanessa’s intended dining room, which would later become a dancefloor. Vanessa previously mentioned that the space, which has italian-style art murals on the wall, was really intended as a party room because she never really had the dining table there.
The room has a Victorian chapel-like feel despite being packed with people for the book launch. Tall candles, statues, and stone make up the decor. The nearby kitchen, which has bright pink countertops stumbling on top of cream cabinets, is a stark contrast.
A swimming pool that I initially mistaken for a pond out the back patio doors before being told it needs some TLC. It’s time to leave as I struggle to navigate the crowds that have arrived at the party, carefully avoiding Katie Piper as she sips on a glass of champagne and perches on the hallway step.
But not before listening to Saskia’s speech, where she gathers the audience to thank them for coming and becomes teary as she acknowledges her mother’s and close family’s support for her book, which is now available.
Overall, Feltz Towers, as we now know it, is unmatched in every other place I’ve ever been. Who knows if I’ll be invited back?
