There was a little optimism at Molineux.
Wolves briefly regained hope after new boss Rob Edwards’ introduction to the home fans.
However, Crystal Palace eventually won thanks to a comfortable win over their hosts, which highlights the size of Edwards’ task to keep his side in the Premier League.
No team has survived with just two points in this top-flight season despite only winning 12 of their first 12 games. In 1994-1995, Everton held on to lead the Toffees with four points.
When asked if Wolves would beat Derby County’s record-equaling Premier League low points total of 11 from 2007-08, Edwards jokingly said he could tell he was back in the dour Midlands.
But the question was legitimate.
Wolves are bottom of the table and haven’t won in a top flight in seven months.
This season, they have lost ten of their 12 games, have conceded 27 goals, and have only managed to score seven on the safety line.
There is little evidence that they will be able to make history with one of the greatest escapes, especially since they are even eight points adrift of 19th-placed Burnley.
The former player had been waiting for this job, which appears to be impossible, despite the fact that it was born in Telford, Edwards’ dream job.
“We have players who can create the biggest moments,” he said. I’m aware that we have lost and that everyone will find it hard, but the 42-year-old claims that despite spending five or six days here, she hasn’t found a magic wand.
“Emotion and the outcome will cloud some people’s emotions in a certain way,” he said. I need to interpret it more clearly.

How harmful is it to wolves?

Wolves’ efforts are admirable, but there is a glaring lack of quality and belief in the team. They worked hard for Edwards.
That lack of confidence will sap Jorgen Strand Larsen’s midfield skills, which he showed last season by scoring 14 goals, or the drive and class that Andre and Joao Gomes have previously displayed.
Although Hwang Hee-Chan’s dreadful pass, just three minutes after the game, which ultimately gave Palace their second goal thanks to Yeremy Pino’s lovely finish and sent them fourth, will be up to Edwards and his staff to help them rediscover that belief.
The new boss, who played for Wolves from 2004 to 2008, said, “Clearly there are some people who are lacking some belief and confidence anyway, and that’s understandable given the position we’re in.”
You must be able to handle that, given the pressure this crowd will place on us. When the goals are in, you can hear it, and you can hear it all over. The fans were fantastic, I am aware of.
“The performance level didn’t drop, but the heads did,” he said. I believed we made an effort to regain momentum and serve a purpose.
Before the Eagles’ visit, Wolves had covered 1194.6k in the Premier League this season. Edwards wants them to run more.
Despite Edwards’ positive notes, they are in the bottom six on that particular metric in comparison to others, and according to Saturday’s evidence, they need more than just miles in the tank to survive.
The former manager of Luton continued, “I was saying to the lads that if we win more duels and run more hard and quickly than them [opposition], good things will happen.” Although it hasn’t changed today, there are still lessons to be learned.
We did more duels, we ran harder, and I did it.
The turnover for the second goal is frustrating, but there was a lot of effort there. We can work harder and do the basics better.
The boys did not give up. A few of the moments punished us. Because of this, both they and we are present.
