Sam Wellings, an Australian rock star known as Kim Dracula, had to cancel two of their shows in Texas after their tour bus caught fire.
Aussie rocker Sam Wellings, aka Kim Dracula, narrowly avoided death on Monday after their tour bus went up in flames in the US. The singer, 26, endured the terrifying ordeal in Texas after being woken up by their crew, who were “screaming and banging on the door”.
Recalling the heartstopping incident after being forced to cancel their gigs in Texas and Arkansas, Wellings took to Instagram, explaining: “At 6am this morning our bus caught fire while we were sleeping. I was in the back behind a locked door and was woken up by my crew screaming and banging on the door telling me to get off the bus.
We all departed right away, and within 30 seconds, the entire bus was engulfed in flames, starting where I was lying down.

The vehicle had a charred and soot-strewn interior and two fire engines en route to the fire, according to a video that came with the post.
Miraculously, no one on the bus was hurt, but Wellings continued, “Most of us lost all our possessions, including things we needed for the show,” despite the crew’s injuries. We were unable to perform tonight and won’t be able to do so tomorrow.
They explained that the Texas and Arkansas shows had been postponed, adding, “We hope to be back on the road supporting Ice Nine Kills starting in Madison.”
Wellings concluded that they had planned to release the news sooner but were unable to do so because they had lost their phone in the fire.
“My phone went up in the fire, so I was unable to make this post any earlier.” However, everyone on the crew is safe, including myself. We anticipate returning soon.
