David Beckham, the 16th man to be knighted, will be the former England captain.
Beckham will be listed as a “sir” in the King’s Birthday Honours list for 2025, according to BBC Sport.
Beckham was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003 for his contributions to the game, and he is currently preparing to receive the knighthood.
Every footballer who is a knight is.
Honorary knighthoods are not included in this list.
Everyone on this list has participated in at least one professional league game.
* Lord Botham also made 11 Football League appearances for Scunthorpe United despite receiving the knighthood (and then being honored) for his services to cricket.
