Hollyoaks’ Jorgie Porter’s unique baby name explained – and unusual inspiration behind it
Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter, 37, is settling to life with a newborn again after giving birth to her daughter, baby Peony Porter Piotrowski, via caesarean section last month. The 37 year old, who has played Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap since 2008, is now a doting mum to the baby, and her big brothers Forest, two, and Alfie, the 10-year-old son of her fiance Ollie Piotrowski.
Forest and Alfie, who live with them in their Greater Manchester home for the majority of the time, and Jorgie’s mother “Grannie Ju Ju,” who were already expecting the child, who was born on December 10 at 10.40am after Jorgie exclusively told OK! felt like it lasted “100 years”.
“Honestly, it was the longest time”, she shared. About a week after she announced her pregnancy, “Margot Robbie had her baby,” according to the statement. “I was pregnant for what felt like a century!”
The issue was that I couldn’t conceal it because my bump came out so early. By the end I’d wake up every day and think, ‘ Yup, I’m still a whale, I’m not getting away from this. ‘ I felt like I really should enjoy it more and milk it more, so it was harder this time. So if I randomly wanted to lie down, I’d lie down, I just didn’t care what other people thought. I merely wanted to enjoy it.
Jorgie and her fiance Ollie, who had a baby name proposal to the actress at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland in 2021, clearly had a theme in mind. She claimed that keeping Peony’s name a secret wasn’t simple.
” We’d not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they’re so beautiful, “she said”. But we actually had to choose her name before someone else had a baby, making it our priority. Because she is already quite a lot for a child to say, isn’t she a middle name?
She’s already considering what might come next for her work-wise now that her family is complete, even though Jorgie claims that they have no plans to have any more children. She joined the cast of Hollyoaks aged just 20, but says she’s more” obsessed “with the show today than she’s ever been.
” I love working, I’ve been doing it from such a young age, and I did Hollyoaks and Dancing On Ice at the same time, “she said”. Although having a baby is not as simple as having a baby, I might ask them if they can just bring Peony to the show and then inquire whether the costume department can just hide her. “.
As well as stepping back into Theresa McQueen’s shoes, there’s also another popular show on the top of her wish list – Strictly Come Dancing.
” I miss dancing, it’s my first love, “she says”. Therefore, dancing would be my ideal profession. Strictly makes me cry every time because I want to do it! “.
