Holly Willoughby has been a household name on ITV for the past few decades, but it seems like she won’t be back on our screens anytime soon.
Due to Holly Willoughby being unable to appear in an upcoming TV show, her future career plans have reportedly been revealed. The actress has long been a household name on television, but it seems like she hasn’t got any upcoming projects to look forward to.
The 44-year-old is now at a point in her career where she hasn’t got a programme lined-up for the first time in 21 years. This comes as her usual presenting gig on Dancing On Ice has come to an end as the show has been axed.
Due to the cancellation of that job, Holly’s previous one, Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls, will no longer be able to do so. She also made a decision to leave You Bet! which means that Stephen Mulhern will be the show’s sole host.
According to reports, Holly’s husband, Dan Baldwin, is working on a remake of Record Breakers, giving her a chance to get a presenting job. According to a source, Holly’s inclusion would make “perfect sense.”
They stated that Holly’s takeover of Record Breakers would make perfect sense because it is likely to be a hit in the future. She has previously worked with Dan, and they are both knowledgeable about what makes a great television.
Holly has also been in amongst a few names that could be hosting the reboot of Cilla Black’s Blind Date. Other celebs that could be up include Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall.
Another show Holly is being looked at for is a new Channel 4 programme where new undiscovered singers are found. Holly first returned back to TV last year after taking an 18 month break.
It has also been reported that ITV are keen to keep Holly as she recently met with Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment and daytime about future opportunities.
Holly always intended to lock in new presenting roles for ITV, which has been her main focus for a while, according to an insider. Due to the cards falling, she didn’t have anything confirmed until earlier this year, which is unfortunate because Holly has a number of exciting projects in hand for her in 2025.
Holly says, “Holly is looking forward, and this week’s meeting was one of the best examples.” There will be new entertainment formats instead of daytime programming. A documentary about Holly’s kidnapping was broadcast during the meeting.
Holly declined to participate in Channel 5’s documentary, The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby, which told the story of the plot by obsessed security guard Gavin Plumb to kidnap, rape and murder her.
The traumatic experience is what led her to step down from her role on ITV1’s This Morning and take a break from television altogether.
