Holly Willoughby showed off a different side to her usual polished self as she posed for a selfie with her new co-star.
Holly, 44, has recently been working with Bear Grylls on their new Netflix show, Celebrity Bear Hunt. In the show, Holly hosted while Bear chased down a group of celebs living in the Costa Rican jungle.
In a photo posted on Instagram today, Dancing on Ice star Holly made it clear that she got into the spirit of the show, smiling while covered in mud beside Bear. While Bear was in his survival gear, Holly looked slightly more chic in a halterneck gown. Unfortunately, even her dress seemed to have been hit by the mud, with her face covered in it.
Alongside the photo, she joked: “When @beargrylls is in charge of your makeup!” along with a laughing emoji. “Thanks for the adventure Bear… total LEGEND! @netflixuk #celebritybearhunt.”

In the comment section, many fans gushed over the series – which just came out last week. “We loved it Hols, binged watched with hubby in 2 days,” one person said, with a second echoing: “I loved all the episodes, just sad it’s finished… Hope another is on soon.” A third agreed: “I really loved the show, hope there’s a series 2.”
Holly got a bumper pay day for her work on Celebrity Bear Hunt, with a reported salary of almost £1 million to present the chaos. However, despite her key role, she only appeared for 24 minutes across all eight episodes. That amounted to Holly being on screen for an average of just 180 seconds per instalment, and meant she bagged an equivalent of £40,000 for every minute she appeared.
While the jaw-dropping cash would be hard to turn down, Holly previously revealed that working with Bear was her main motivation for taking on the new job.
“When Bear called and described the premise of the show, I was like, ‘Okay, well, it sounds great. It also sounds like a show that my kids would love – they love Bear – so it was a bit of a no-brainer,” she explained to MailOnline. “This was definitely a ‘yes’ on a spot.”
Bear made it clear that he returned Holly’s admiration during an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier this month. He spoke to ITV hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid about the series, and gushed over “humble” and “brave” Holly.
As Susanna reflected on Holly’s tough times over recent years, Bear said, “Holly has a beautiful spirit—she really does. As you say, she’s overcome many tough things in her life. I think everybody on this show – myself, the cast, and Holly – all of us were out of our comfort zone. It’s a full on, committing experience in there.
“But I think the jungle does a lot of that for us. It challenges us and builds us up. I came away at the end of that thinking, ‘What a remarkable lady.’ Humble, brave, determined.”
