After Powerful Glory won the race with a score of 200-1, Calandagan won the race for the first time on British Champions Day, and Cicero’s Gift won the race with a record-breaking score of 100-1.

The Champion Stakes from Ombudsman was won by French challenger Calandagan at Ascot, which was trained by Francis-Henri Graffard by Mickael Barzalona for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard.

In the Champions Sprint Stakes, the Richard Fahey-trained Powerful Glory defeated 2-1 favorite Lazzat to move into second place.

Three months after Qirat set a record by winning the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood at 150-1, Powerful Glory is the highest-priced winner of a top-level British Group One race.

Spencer finished third in the 19-runner race with a late surge on his mount as he won Britain’s richest race day. Quinault finished with a 66-1 shot third.

Powerful Glory was a good horse that traveled well. I had a false sense of place and suddenly realized I had a chance.

Another big upset occurred when trainer Charlie Hills rode trainer Jason Watson’s 100-percent chance of winning the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

A tearful Watson won Group One for the first time since 2019 before The Lion In Winter and Alakazi.

The winner is Calandagan.

Ombudsman and Delacroix met for the third time, with the score one point, and their trainers as the focus of much of the discussion leading up to the Champion Stakes.

Aidan O’Brien, Delacroix’s trainer, had suggested John Gosden, who trains alongside his son Thady, liked to “whinge” occasionally after races.

Gosden, who had alluded to O’Brien fielding numerous runners in some significant races, claimed his remarks had “irritated” his Irish counterpart.

However, they had no luck as 15-8 shot Calandagan, who finished second last year, won by two and a quarter lengths, with Almaqam coming in third and Delacroix coming in fourth.

Graffard and Barzalona, who shared the Prix de l’Arc de Triimphe with Daryz two weeks ago, won another significant victory in the Aga Khan’s colors.

Trainer: “I nearly bet on Powerful Glory.”

Powerful Glory had won both of his previous starts last year, including the Group Two Mill Reef Stakes, but had been well-beaten in both of those races this year.

When I saw 200-1, I nearly had a bet, and I don’t bet, said Fahey, “I’m not saying I thought he would come here and almost win, but I knew he would do it.”

“He only started four starts, but we have seen the real Powerful Glory today.”

Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum’s ownership of Powerful Glory resulted in nearly £320, 000 on a day with an overall prize fund of £4.35 million.

In a Long Distance Cup one-two earlier, Trawlerman defeated Sweet William to win the Gosdens.

Colin Keane’s horse Kalpana, who is trainer Andrew Balding, won the Fillies and Mares Stakes.

Oisin Murphy won the title of champion jockey for the fifth time after a difficult year.

After crashing into a tree in April, Murphy was fined £70,000 and banned from driving for 20 months.

The jockey expressed regret for what transpired and apologized for it.

He claimed that “I had a point to make that I was able to do my job with external circumstances,” which motivated and helped me win the championship.
