Helen Flanagan has had a whirlwind few years when it comes to her personal life, from her split with longtime partner Scott Sinclair to a new relationship with another footballer, Robbie Talbot, which ended in May after a year together.

However, the former Coronation Street actress tells the Mirror she’s ready to get back out there on the dating scene again – she just doesn’t have a clue where to start.

“I’m open to dating, but I’m incredibly busy with my kids. I’m 19 years old and can leave for Manchester with a boyfriend a few days later, but I’m 35 now. I’m not really going on a night out, am I? “Really? Helen grins as we catch up with the National Television Awards, which are a spectacle.

A busy mum-of-three, Helen shares her brood, Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and four-year- old Charlie with Bristol Rovers midfielder Scott. The pair were together for 13 years, meeting in 2009 at the height of Helen’s soap fame and getting engaged nine years later. However, they split in 2022, admitting later that their relationship had deteriorated to the point where they didn’t even “like” each other any more.

Helen previously acknowledged that her relationship with Scott had broken down. “I don’t see it as a break-up, I see it as a divorce.” “We spent 13 years together. But I threw myself into work and turned off my emotions in order to process it all. I simply entered “survival mode.”

There isn’t much time for dating because Helen co-parents her brood with Scott while also working. As you age, it becomes harder, and being a mother means being “just up my eyes with my kids and work, always” (p. 6)

The actress, who admitted to being understandably wary of bringing someone new into the fold in April, has made no secret of the effects the breakdown of her relationships have had on her three children. She described how her young children are dealing with their parents living apart and explained that “Matilda is very sensitive and a proper daddy’s girl” and that she “finds it difficult to see Scott as often as she’d like.”

When Helen appeared on E4’s Celebs Go Dating last year, she dated former football player and construction worker Robbie, who they initially met off camera before he was later introduced to. And in September 2024, Robbie even re-located Helen’s family home, making the pair completely smitten.

Unfortunately, the arrangement didn’t last long, and Robbie later left because Helen acknowledged that Matilda, her eldest child, was having a difficult time adapting to the new environment.

She said of the youngster, “I always think about how she feels when she misses her dad, and maybe having my boyfriend there doesn’t help her.” I always put my children first when you do what you have to do for them.

After Helen and Robbie split, there was a rumor that Helen wanted to concentrate on her children and work. The actress now claims she is prepared to throw her hat on for a second stint on the matchmaking show as she searches for love once more.

“I would definitely do Celebs Go Dating again!” Not, why? She giggles and says, “I think I was quite iconic on it. I absolutely loved doing it, it was one of my favorite shows, and I literally had the best summer ever. That show is my favorite.

The TV star even kept track of the latest series, she says, which recently wrapped and featured the likes of Kerry Katona, Jon Lee, Mark Labbett and Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins. “I thought Kerry was so endearing on it, and I loved Olivia on it, too. I thought Olivia was so gorgeous and a lot of women could relate to her. I really enjoyed this series.”

Helen says, “It’s nice to have a night off being in mum mode, but then I always miss the kids, so I can’t win,” during our conversation ahead of the National Television Awards night.

However, the actress acknowledges that catching up with her former Corrie pals is always enjoyable. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there tonight because I adore it. I’ve attended the NTAs since I was 16 years old. she exclaims.

“The NTAs were always so exciting, especially when I was younger. The younger members of the cast, especially the younger ones, were never allowed to travel because it was always an adult experience. I recall being so fortunate. Such fond memories are always made of this night.
