A friend of Gene Hackman’s has provided details about why two of the actors’ dogs may have survived, despite the fact that the mystery surrounding one of his dogs is still unsolved.

On February 26, Gene, 95, and his 63-year-old wife Betsy Arakawa, 63, discovered with their 12-year-old dog Zinna dead at their remote Santa Fe, New Mexico, home. Gene and his wife Arakawa frequently boarded their pets at Santa Fe Tails pet care, according to Joey Padilla, who is the owner of Zinna’s strong bond with Betsy.

Joey referred to Zinna’s unceasing relationship with Betsy. According to Joey, “Betsy and Zinna were always in a hip relationship,” according to Joey. He added that Zinna, who had once been a former shelter dog, had flourished under Betsy’s care and developed a strong, devoted companion. Their strong bond may have contributed to Zinna’s tragic passing as the only dog of the three.

The dog, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and Gene, all tragically passed away at their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home.

A neighborhood resident who frantically called the emergency services after noticing the pair not moving through the mansion windows found Gene and Betsy’s bodies. Both of their bodies had no obvious injuries, which led to the death investigation. They are thought to have been dead for more than a week.

The other two pets, who were both healthy and alive, were discovered in the house, which the police described as odd. According to USA Today, Zinna was a reddish Australian-mixed breed that had been found mummified. However, the couple’s German Shepherd, named Bear, was initially mistakenly given by police.

Bear is reportedly still alive along with the couple’s other dog. How the animal was misidentified in the initial police report is unknown. Following the enigmatic deaths and mummification, police are said to be looking at three crucial hints. According to a former FBI agent, Bill Daly said the police would be looking at three crucial things, including the phones and the pills, and that they would likely also be going through the trash to try to figure out what transpired.

He added, “They can geolocate around the property to see what was pinging that time, even if they don’t believe there was foul play,” but they can also determine what activity occurred before and afterward. He also added a thought-provoking thought. I think it’s worthwhile to look into the description of his wife in the bathroom a little more. She also used the restroom.

“I suppose there was a space heater, and some pills appeared to be scattered everywhere, if that space heater was turned on.” That might alter the appearance of her decomposition. The decomposition rate is actually affected by having a heat source close to the remains. Authorities are working to establish the precise sequence of events leading up to their passing while the investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
