Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton and Pirelli are traveling with their dog Roscoe, who is a coma, to avoid a Formula 1 tire test.

His 12-year-old bulldog, who is seven-time world champion, was admitted with pneumonia in the country by Britain’s seven-time world champion.

Hamilton, 40, claimed that the dog’s heart stopped while being sedated while they performed checks.

Hamilton wrote: “They managed to get a heartbeat back, and now he’s in a coma,” in a caption that appeared on Instagram alongside photos of himself by Roscoe’s bedside. We’re not sure if he’ll experience this. We’ll make an effort to wake him up tomorrow. I’m praying for him and expressing my gratitude to everyone who has prayed for him and supported him.

Zhou Guanyu, a reserve from China, had scheduled to test the prototype tires at Italy’s Mugello track on Friday, but Hamilton was canceled.
