Thomas Tuchel, England manager, claims he has not spoken with former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood and that he is “not in our thoughts.”

Greenwood, 23, left United after he was found not guilty of rape and assault charges in February of that year.

He signed for Marseille on a permanent basis in 2024 after spending time with Getafe on loan and scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

He obtained a Jamaican passport, but he hasn’t yet filled out the necessary change of association form because he isn’t ready to formally commit to the Caribbean.

The Jamaica coach Steve McClaren and Tuchel’s frustrated coach has since abandoned the possibility of a return to England.

“I haven’t spoken to him in a while.” The Three Lions manager stated at a press conference that he had not spoken to him or his camp.

We didn’t give it another thought because it was understood that he tried to play for Jamaica. He is not in our thoughts for our team at the moment, and he is not in the mix.

McClaren requested Greenwood be in his squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago, but he later said he wouldn’t commit to anyone at this time.

The former England boss questioned Greenwood’s international future, saying: “He is taking his time over that, which is disappointing. We’ll probably need more patience.

Because I know Mason and his family, I know he loves and respects Jamaica, I promise to keep in touch with him.
