Gravenberch withdraws from Netherlands squad

Due to injury, Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad for their two-legged Nations League clash against Spain.

The 22-year-old suffered a knock in the Reds’ Carabao Cup final defeat against Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday.

The Netherlands’ national team posted a statement on social media stating that the midfielder is still unable to play in the games against Spain because of an injury he sustained over the weekend.

Dutch manager Ronald Koeman has chosen not to call up a replacement for the Spain games that will take place on Thursday in Rotterdam and then on Sunday in Valencia.
