Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has announced a donation of 1, 000 Saudi Riyals, or roughly 450, 000, to each of the 3,200 state-religious pilgrims who are currently visiting Saudi Arabia for the Hajj.
Governor Aliyu addressed the Sokoto pilgrims in Mina on Saturday, expressing his congratulations on the successful completion of the Hajj rites.
He claimed that the money was intended to support the pilgrims’ trip to Nigeria.

The governor praised the Sokoto delegation’s example of good conduct, noting that none of the state’s pilgrims were arrested while they were there and found not to have broken Saudi Arabian law.
Aliyu reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the safety of all Sokoto residents, including those who follow a religious path.
He also expressed his gratitude to Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo, the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, and the State Amirul Hajj for their tireless efforts in coordinating a successful Hajj.
