Gov Eno Dissolves State Executive Council

The State Executive Council of Akwa Ibom has been disbanded.

Decisions were made at the Council’s Friday valedictory meeting in Government House, Uyo.

After the executive council meeting, comrade Ini Ememobong, the immediate former commissioner for information, made the disclosure known to government house correspondents.

Gov Eno inherited the entire executive council from his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel.

All Commissioners were instructed to turn over to their permanent secretaries in Prince Enobong Uwah’s earlier statement, which read “Dissolution of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.”

All commissioners were praised by the governor for their contributions to the state in the release, and the governor wished them success in their future endeavors.

Governor Eno described the exiting commissioners as deserving of his honor in his emotional address at the valedictory dinner held at the Banquet Hall in Government House, Uyo, having been with him through the electoral processes that led to his election as governor and serving diligently through the disbanded cabinet’s twenty-month period.

Eno, who defied the narrative that the cabinet’s dissolution was billed as a sack of the ousted Commissioners, explained that the unusual way he had planned to thank them for their service as coworkers and delivery partners for the ARISE Agenda and described the exit as a celebration of the completion of a new phase and the initiation of a new chapter of their service life.

“I’m emotionally affected by this.” How do I say goodbye to my friends and coworkers who have been with me from the beginning of our campaigns, through the trenches, through the elections, and are currently here about 20 months later? It’s challenging for me to say goodbye, but it is, as we were told this morning during the exhortation that it is 12 noon as well. I’ll also say good morning because I’m welcoming you to a new chapter, so I’ll say goodnight as well.

The Governor thanked the departing cabinet members for advancing the ARISE Agenda so far, and urged those who might be appointed next to appreciate the privilege of being called to the State’s service and be prepared to show due diligence in pursuing the aspirations of the Agenda.

“Commissioners are sacked, but you are not sacked,” is the typical rumor. I just use this to demonstrate that we will always function as a team. No man succeeds alone. You are simply being celebrated and prepared for our state’s, our nation’s, and indeed, our country’s, next task.

” They have done extremely well, and and they have made the Arise Agenda to succeed, and no man can succeed alone. If we have succeeded as we have, these men and women made us succeed.

Governor Eno reaffirmed that the dedication you showed to achieving the vision as stated in our economic and governance blueprint, the Arise Agenda, was likely to be responsible for the top-notch performance we have had in the last twenty months, ticking all the necessary boxes, and gearing ourselves for more super deliveries going forward.

The governor stated that his administration was prepared to complete 31 new projects by the end of March, so he urged those who might have the opportunity to do so. He also provided a forecast for the year.
