After welcoming their first child together, Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford and his wife Imogen welcomed their first child together.

Announcing the news on Sunday, the 44-year-old gushed over their “little angel” as he revealed the sweet name they’d given their daughter. “After what felt like forever she’s finally here! We both scream when the human milk machine shuts down for a rare break, he wrote, and Camille Beresford arrived safely earlier this week. She already has us wrapped around her little finger.

Alex also called his wife Imogen “amazing” and took the time to praise the “incredible” midwives and doctors who’d helped them along the way. He added: “The NHS is quite simply amazing! I’ve worked with staff from all over the world for the past nine months and have seen them constantly going the extra mile. I can’t thank you enough for keeping mum and baby safe xxxx #girldadgang #girldadenergy”.

Many viewers at home will recognize Alex as a well-known face on television because the GMB weather has been broadcast since 2014. Let’s take a closer look at his life and career thus far as he embarks on a brand-new journey away from the camera…

Piers Morgan row

On our screens, Alex made headlines in 2021 following an on air row on GMB with former host Piers Morgan. Alex criticized Piers for criticizing the Duchess of Sussex following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this programme. If Meghan Markle cut you off, she has a right to do so, as I understand you have a personal relationship with her. Since cutting you off, has she spoken to you in any way? I don’t think she has, but yet you continue to trash her”, he said.

Piers eventually left the set and went back to presenting the show. Piers later announced he was leaving, but the episode also marked the end of his time on the network.

Following the episode, Alex released a statement in which he addressed the situation. “I hoped we could reach a place of understanding. It’s sad that we weren’t able to get there, but challenging his opinion was not an outrage”, it read.

“On this occasion, we have to agree to disagree. I didn’t want him to quit, but I did want him to listen. Personally, Piers has always supported my growth. He has provided me with valuable advice on numerous occasions, and I appreciate it. I wish him well”!

Split from ex

Back in 2020, it was revealed that Alex and his wife Natalia, with whom he shares son Crux, had called time on their relationship. Although their relationship ended in 2019, they initially continued to live together.

The weather presenter opened up about the split during an appearance on the Britain Get Talking podcast. He explained that in their circumstances, leaving was “the best thing” to do.

“As we kind of moved into the summer, myself and Natalia decided we were going to part ways, which, you know me – I’m not a quitter, and I hate quitting things”, he said.

We tried to resolve issues, but at some point you realize that walking away is never simple. However, it is always the best course of action. It takes a while to figure things out because we were staying in the same house up until the beginning of this year.

Wedding abroad

After being set up on a blind date, Alex met his now-wife Imogen in August 2020. The Son Marroig and the pair tied the knot two years later in a romantic ceremony at the Son Marroig estate in Majorca in 2022.

Cruz, the TV star’s son, served as the ring bearer for the occasion, and Alex described the occasion as being “some sort of movie.” The beauty of it all “blew me away.” One of my cousins described it as “being in a movie,” which he later admitted to telling Hello magazine. “From beginning to end, it was incredible.” But most importantly, it was where I was marrying the woman I love”.

Alex has previously discussed the additional layers that came with the day because Imogen’s wedding coincided with Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. He wrote in a post on X about the logistics, “This year I sat pentifully beside my son in the corner of a small cafe in the small village of Deia, trying to take in the late Queen’s funeral on a tiny tv mounted close to the ceiling, while thinking about the day ahead – our wedding.”
