As festivalgoers prepare to leave the festival following days of music, Glastonbury officials have issued a warning. The festival is set to record in the high temperatures.
Glastonbury bosses have issued a warning to everyone at the festival ahead of the extreme weather on Monday. The iconic music event is coming to an end today, with pop star Olivia Rodrigo taking to the stage as headliner.
However, organizers have already made the necessary preparations for Monday’s packing and departing. It arrives after the weather has already reached over 30 degrees.
Glastonbury urged everyone at the site to keep a message that read, “Temperatures of up to 31C are forecast for Monday.” For the heat, please make a plan ahead. For those who leave the website by car, bus, or public transportation, read our advice below.
The festival has published advice for festivalgoers to avoid the heat. They reportedly stated, “TIPS FOR DRIVERS LEAVING THE SITE.” Please bring all of your belongings with you; bring what you can back to your car today to reduce the amount you need to carry in the heat of tomorrow.
Leave between midnight tonight and 6 am on Monday to avoid the heat and the long lines. Before leaving the site, refill your water bottles using one of our 800+ taps. Have supplies for your journey (marketers will be open tomorrow morning).
Wear light clothing, a hat, or a damp cloth on your neck or head, they continued. If you have window treatments, use them or leave them alone. Never operate a vehicle while driving while under the influence. Please pay attention to the stewards and be respectful and, as appropriate, understanding that there may be queues to leave the site.
“Get Travel Updates from Worthy FM on the app & 87.7FM and from @TravelSomerset on Twitter. Travel safely. If you’re tired on your journey home, stop and take a break. Keep an eye on your friends – if you / they feel faint, seek help from stewards.”
Glastonbury also issued separate warnings for those departing the festival using public transportation. Take all of your belongings home with you, they urged. Before leaving the site, refill your water bottles using one of our 800+ taps.
Apply sunscreen, which is offered for free at Info points, and cover up. Wearing light clothing, a hat, and applying a damp cloth to your neck or head are suggested. Make sure you are in the correct queue, pay attention, and behave politely and compassionately.
Take off your rucksack because it keeps you warm and prevents you from losing heat, the message continued. Keep an eye on your friends; if you or them feel faint, call the stewards for assistance.
Ronnie Wood, Lulu, and Mick Hucknall joined Rod Stewart for the Legends slot on Sunday afternoon. Olivia Rodrigo, a pop star, will be closing the Pyramid Stage after The 1975 and Neil Young have previously held headliner positions over the weekend.
