Giovanni Pernice has shown off the impressive results of his body transformation a year after leaving Strictly Come Dancing. The pro dancer is no stranger to keeping himself in shape, but looked incredible in new photos he posted on Instagram.

The 34-year-old shared ‘before and after’ shots of his torso wearing the same pair of mulberry-colored pants, which he claims were taken just five weeks apart. Gio praised his new six-pack and toned his biceps, saying “5 weeks in.”

Celeb pals like Gemma Atkinson, who is engaged to Gio’s Strictly pal Gorka Marquez, were quick to comment underneath. The actress and radio host, who is also into her fitness and regularly posts updates for her 2.1 million followers, simply posted five clapping hands emojis.

While Bianca Guaccero, who Gio was a partner and won the Italian version of Strictly with, posted: “Strength and determination! Good job, “love me”! Fans also expressed their support for Gio X in the form of a poster. Another fan made the joke: “Well done Gio, but you would look gorgeous even with a paper bag on your head”!

A third person praised you for working hard and sticking to what you do, and having a great mindset. Fourth is reaffirmed: “Keep up the great work.” “Wow Gio!” was a fifth phrase that was used in response to the fifth: “I didn’t think you could improve on perfection”! While another flirty fan declared, “You’re very cute, Gio!”

Italian dancer Gio quit Strictly last summer after nine years on the BBC show. It came after he faced allegations over his tough training methods from previous celebrity partners, including actress Amanda Abbington.

He claimed at the time that he had been “surprised as his fans” after being accused of being a victim of “abuse.” Amanda, 51, canceled the Strictly series last year due to medical concerns. However, she later claimed that after her appearance on the show, Gio had been “unnecessarily abusive, cruel and mean” and that she had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Gio stated in a statement last year that he would “clear his name” and that fans “are aware of my passion and competitive streak over the past ten years on Strictly Come Dancing”

No one has more ambitions than me for my dance partners. I’ve always made an effort to make them the best dancers they can be. For me and my dance partners, this has always come from a place of love and desire to win. I’m again grateful for your continued love and support! Giovanni, “

Amanda made 17 claims, and BBC bosses launched an investigation. Six of those cases involving verbal harassment and bullying were upheld. However, the most serious allegations of physical agression were dispelled.

The BBC stated that “we have evaluated the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made,” with the investigation now being completed. We regret our relationship with Amanda Abbington and extend our gratitude for her bravery. We are aware that doing this would not have been simple.

Gio is now trying to move on from the scandal, but has continued to perform in his own live shows. Speaking out about his ‘dark year’, he exclusively told the Sunday Mirror: “Sorry for my language but 2024 can f**k off. I’ve been looking forward to seeing the back of it.”

There were moments where, you know, this is over, this is the end of my career, he said, “I’m not going to lie.” One of my downfalls was that.
