Georgia May Foote, a former Coronation Street star, thanked fans for their kindness in the most recent update for her business that burned down.
Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has revealed a devastating update on her beauty business after it tragically burned down. The former actress told her fans that the building will be demolished after she launched a fundraiser for herself and the other businesses affected.
Georgia, who played Katy Armstrong on the Corrie Cobbles before leaving in 2015, took to social media to reveal that the building will be torn down.
The 34-year-old thanked fans for their kindness as she stated her ‘heart is broken’. She said in an emotional Instagram video: “Guys! Thank you so much! Unfortunately, the building is now about to be demolished, my heart is broken. I want to first of all say how sorry I am to anyone who has lost even a single item in that fire.”
She continued, “I can’t imagine how those who have things cannot be replaced feel.” I apologize so much. In a bid to help us all return to work as soon as possible, I posted my final reel.
We can’t buy stock without working, and without stock, we can’t work. Many of us find it to be the most difficult situation possible. With no longer any of our jobs, no longer any families to feed, and no longer any bills to pay.
The soap star stated that she wanted to raise $10,000, but she did so with the help of her followers. She urged people to continue giving and that “every penny” will be donated to the organizations to help “get back to where we were.”
Georgia continued with the video, “I didn’t think for a second that we would receive this support!” However, we are only halfway through 10k! Every penny will be evenly distributed to help us get back where we left off, as there are 12 of us in the beauty industry.
She continued, “I appreciate everything that has been donated as well!” Please VERY IMMEDIATELY, PLEASE, DO NOT PAY. This will be very helpful for us because we have all lost thousands each. Links in the bio! Please contact me if your other business has experienced damage from this fire and you want to support your fundraisers.
Georgia has experienced a varied career thus far, first starring in Grange Hill for three years before joining Coronation Street.
Following her soap exit in 2015, she put on her dancing shoes and joined Strictly Come Dancing, where she finished runner-up with her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
Georgia revealed in 2023 that she was employed alongside her acting career and that, despite acting being her main goal, her position in the beauty industry has provided her with some “security.”
As she stated at the time, “Actoring is my main career and always will be.” However, nails provide me with the security and headroom that actors require.
