Betfred Super League
Hull FC (12) 12
Pryce, Barron, Sezer, Goals
Wigan (22) 36
With a classy victory over Hull FC at the KCOM Stadium, Wigan Warriors moved up to second place in the Super League.
Through Bevan French, the visitors fought back inside five minutes, but Will Pryce cut inside to get the hosts going.
Junior Nsemba and Jake Wardle’s tally increased after Harvey Barron’s response for Hull, so Jai Field fought his way through to keep Wigan’s lead.
As French capitalized on a communication breakdown in the Hull defense to rush onto a loose ball and go to ground for his sixth Super League try in 2025, Wigan quickly took the lead.
No sooner did Pryce attempt to gain ground for the hosts on the wing than a crowd of opponents turfed him in. Such was their fervour to keep that early lead.
Pryce, who was unaffected, was key both in the build-up and the execution of his side’s victory, racing through a gap to get his team in touching distance before latching on to a pass to dummy through for his first try since joining the club last month.
Lewis Martin had a foot in the air when the hosts made the kick, but Wigan immediately made the most of their field position with Field’s twist into crossing over moments later.
Barron encountered Aidan Sezer’s kick, but Nsemba ducked and dived his way to the line to make it even more difficult for Wigan to keep up with Hull once more as he moved in a bit of style.
Wardle strolled through Warde’s stylish first half with ease as Hull failed to pick him up, adding some shine to the effort.
After the break, Miski’s try was awarded by video referee Ben Thaler after it was determined that Hull’s audacious drive to the corner had failed.
French scored in their 46-4 thrashing of their opponents back in February with a lung-busting run from 80 meters, which made it impossible for the visitors to see. This season, he has now scored three tries against the Airlie Birds.
Chamberlain, Aydin, Balmforth, and Laidlaw are the exchanges.
Field, Miski, Keighran, Wardle, Wardle, Marshall, Marshall, French, Smith, Byrne, O’Neill, Walters, Nsemba, Farrell, Ellis, and more.
Thompson, Leeming, Hill, and Eckersley swaps.
