Frankie Bridge informs fans about her battle with depression
Frankie Bridge has shared an emotional update about her mental health with fans. The Saturdays star, who has been open about her mental health struggles since 2011, made the confession in an Instagram video as a reminder that people might be struggling behind the scenes.
In a heartfelt post to her 1.5 million followers, Frankie, 36, spoke to the camera as admitted: “I have finally made it down to the gym, it has taken me the whole day to actually get here.
” My depression is absolutely kicking my a*** at the moment, I’m so over it. You just feel like you do all the things you’re told you’re meant to do, and then it just still always comes back.
She sadly added: “I’m just so bored of myself, it is so boring, and I just think everyone around me must just be so bored of it as well, and I just, I’m over it”.
The I’m a Celebrity star tried to look on the bright side, and shared: “But I’m here, I’m going to try and do as much as I can in the gym, because I know it will make me feel better, instead just sitting around eating s**t, which is what I’ve been doing all day, which only makes me feel worse, and I know that, so I don’t know why I do it, but here we are back in the same old place.”
After her workout, Frankie updated fans to say that pushing herself to get moving had helped. “So there is not much that a little bit of Paramore and a workout can’t fix, I definitely feel a lot better.
” And if I hadn’t have come in, I’d have just berated myself even more, that I had the whole day that I was able to come to the gym, and I just didn’t, I just sat around and just wallowed in self-pity, and so I am glad that I did. “
The brave singer mused:” I feel like it’s picked me up, but why couldn’t I have done this earlier? And then I might have had a better day, but then, equally, I just couldn’t do it. I just couldn’t get in here before now, so it is what it is, I should just be pleased that I’ve done it. “
Frankie is an ambassador for the mental health charity Mind, and just last week admitted that her mental health was at a low after being hit by a “horrendous bug.”
The Loose Women star shares two sons with footballer husband Wayne Bridge, and said that she was “questioning everything” at the time, including whether she had “failed” as a parent.
” Let me tell you. Me, myself and I in a room alone for that long is not good for my mental health. It has taken a real battering, “she described after being stuck in bed for days.
