Fifa opens disciplinary proceedings over Rudiger incident

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Rudiger and Cabral engaged in a fight in the final stages of Sunday’s Club World Cup match.

Cabral remarked, “It was a fight. We scuffled. He claimed that I struck him with my hand, and the referee immediately raised the racism sign, but I continued to tell him the same thing throughout the entire incident.

After anti-discrimination campaigns in football in 2021, Rudiger, who was then at Chelsea, said that despite these efforts, he will “continue to fight” against racist abuse.
